The Synopsis
Isabel’s been cursed since the Middle Ages.
Desperate to escape an arranged marriage, she made a hasty bargain with a demon, asking for liberation from an oppressive husband-to-be and the excitement of travel. But the demon’s “gift” came at a steep cost. Each time he moves her to a new city, her memory’s wiped. No one can touch her bare skin without injury or even death. And she sees the lifespan of every living being (and is, in fact, immortal herself).
All a constant reminder that she’s different than other teen girls.
But New Orleans seems to accept her as she is. She has friends and a real life in this quirky, hot city. Then Isabel meets Dominic, whose deep soul and strong character draw her to him. Her growing love gives her the courage to confront the demon, insisting the curse be broken. But the demon’s price for freedom is much, much higher than she could possibly give.
The Talk
Yes, um, can someone dial 911? I'M KILLING MYSELF.
When I glanced at the cover and read its synopsis, I WAS DEEPLY INTRIGUED.
First of all, it's not everyday you come across a story that revolves around a "cursed" person. It kinda reminds me of American Horror Story : Coven, but there's still a certain edge to it. The "demon" is scaring me right now, and I don't know what will happen to me when this is published. And ISABEL. I LIKE HER ALREADY. I know, from reading other emotional books, that it must be hard for her. Being like that for centuries, and swiping her memories when she's moved to a different city? what?! If you look at it on a particular angle, that concept really brings up reincarnation, without the whole "pregnancy" thing. And that INTERESTS me. The story WILL be unique, I tell you.
I BARELY CAUGHT UP TO THIS I'M DYING
